Insecure Season 3, Episode 8 Season Finale Recap

Well this is the end...for now.
*cue the beginning of Boo'd Up by Ella Mai*
Feelings, so deep in my feelings...because Issa and her crew got me in my feelings with this finale. How could they drop so many bombs, yet leave me wanting more? Gave us 5 more funky lil' minutes like my addiction not real. Let's go through the pop-ups, glow-ups and blow outs of this episode.
The show starts off with Issa out in her neighborhood looking for donors, vendors and artists to contribute to her lil' project. Molly's shady words, not mine. Everyone is saying no. They are saying no because they are scared of losing business, don't want to give away anything for free without an actual outcome, and/or are just looking for the bitches. Even though at the moment Issa only wants to help promote businesses, plan on a great volume of people, and there is only one bitch. Again their words not mine. It is honestly not working in young Issa's favor and sis is over it. But have you ever felt discouraged because it felt like everyone was telling you no? Did you give up automatically or tried your best and then gave it up to God?
Onto Molly and Issa on a lunch date. As they catch each other up on their lives, we find out that Molly has become in denial of the fact that she has been acting shady. Shady towards her coworkers at this new firm she just had to be apart of, and shady towards herself. Shady towards herself as in she's abandoning the Molly we grew to love and worry about from season one. She's a whole palm tree at this point. But would you ever step over someone for a position? (I think I have asked that before, but would you?) Issa is on this forget Nathan campaign after the grunt work for her community festival went sour. I kind of side eyed her for giving Nathan such credit for something that was already there. I feel that she had the fire, he just put a little gas on the flames.
We go into a scene with Lawrence and his father. Papa Lawrence is fine, like grown man fine, but I'm not surprised look at his son. The two meet up and discuss love and relationships and catch up all together. But we learn Lawrence is running away from his potential love, we don't know who it is, but we know he doesn't want baggage. Or so he says. Papa L gets with Lil L about his laziness in relationships and how no one really doesn't want to put in the work. I can admit, I am lazy with 95% of things that involve emotions and/or love, this is why I'm single. It was great to see someone call Lawrence on his foolishness. This is why hanging with family is important. They boost you up and bring you back to reality real quick.
Torian (I can't get over this name, it sounds so harsh to me) is giving the coldest shoulder to Molly. I don't blame him, but they have a new case to work on. I believe Torian is not at all delighted to work with Molly, again, I don't blame him.
Issa is working on another goal, and that is meeting with the Beat Crew. Go Issa, get this schmoney, go Issa, secure the bag. I'm glad she is working on other areas of her life instead of dwelling on what is not working at the moment. Because that, in my world, is a slippery slope to depression.
Molly is over here, lowkey, being Issa's better half with a surprise birthday link up. Door to door service and sweet messages. It gets like that when you and your closest friend are single.

Then BOOM the beige bandit, Nathan, is making his way downtown and walking fast to potentially mess up Issa's birthday weekend. I legit had anxiety when I saw him walking up. I just knew how this was going to go down. With his light eyes and smooth voice there was a mental fuck bound to bounce around in Issa's pretty, little, natural head. Thankfully Molly skrt skrts the mess before he even hits the door. Don't we all wish we have a Molly? I know I have a strong three. Well a portion because sis can be a lot. I felt that Molly could have gone about this completely differently, but hey I don't write for the show so what do I know. *Kanye of 2004-2010 shrug* BUT she is a rider so I give her that.
...Nathan, a whole month my guy...wow.
Moving on, Issa is surprised by Molly with a screening her favorite movie. Let there be an outside screening of Selena, Clueless or Love Jones I'm going to be crying tears of joy. Now when something goes well we always have to anticipate Lawrence to mess up the vibe, just a lil bit. It makes sense why he is there...but for so many reasons. It wouldn't be an Issa birthday without him doing a little DTP on the mind. But, I'm glad I caught cousin Issa feeling her ex again, so cute.
KELLI IS IN THE HOUSE! So she's in attendance of these birthday festivities and we find out she is the godmother of Tiffany's baby. Surprised and not at the same time. Friend to friend, have you ever had a Quantrel moment? Wanna know for a friend. The fact that they are maxin' and relaxin' in a graveyard is just bothering my spirits. Like who booked this venue?
So I'm guessing the whole cast besides the DuBois' are here. Chad is here with his estranged fiance and I'm just as puzzled as Lawrence.
Now let's go back to Tiffany's baby shower where we met a young lady who looked like she took an interest into Lawrence. Well she's back running this ghostly movie event. Cue Chad singing Reasons by Earth, Wind & Fire because this makes so much sense why Lawrence is here right now.
A real ghost comes back to haunt our lovely Molly. Entering bi-curious Jared; Molly's shortly loved ex who could hit it in the right spot but liked to explore other spots as well. And is it me or does she have a type? But a male comes around to tell Jared they have a spot waiting for him. Molly acts weird and scurries away, she is off this season because it was not that deep.
Lawrence has a slight come to Jesus moment when he learns Chad is back with his ex. Now we find him handing candy to Issa and getting cursed out by movie goers. I think in the past he cared too much what people (Chad) thought about his solution to Issa cheating. We all know he loves him some Issa...or something like that at the moment.
So Molly did overreact but she then gets egg thrown on her face when she realizes Jared is with a young chocolate thang. Aha, don't you feel foolish? She lowkey has a chance since she likes to mess with men in relationships and what not. A little Andrew humor...don't take it seriously.
Issa is now networking with ol' girl from the baby shower. We see that she is reinspired to work on her passion project. We all know about those, right y'all. I love that she is multitasking her goals, so proud of her.
Now in this scene I was hoping and praying nothing bad happened. The only thing that did happen was the usual; Molly patting herself on the back for overstepping her boundaries. Chile the irony, had the nerve to make boundaries such a big ordeal in the beginning of the season with ol' boy with the baby. In real life and in the show. After the whole thing with Dro and Molly, I cannot separate the actor from the character. Sarunas is synonymous to Dro. I call this character evolution though, or in her case character backsliding. And then Issa was just hurt; she has always known right from wrong, but not right then and there. Been there, going through it honey. Molly has to understand sometimes Issa doesn't need a saviour and she needs a friend.
Torian has now turned that cold shoulder into a Diddy bop onto pettyville. Bro eased his ass down the road to the lawyers who Molly had dissed to work with him. Child this is a true full circle moment. At the top it's just us...I guess.

But Molly, sweetie, who do you think you are catching an attitude? You are the one who caused this chaos. If you had just stayed in your lane and walked in your own stride there wouldn't be any problems.
Issa is following through with her connections and is having a business meeting. I feel this woman is an accomplished carbon copy of Issa. Her quirky personality and cute protective style, just got things together a little bit better than Issa. As our girl makes her way home she finds the flowers she was going to get on her birthday on her doorstep. Lord, y'all know she's going to call him.
Young Mollykins is out here trying to fix her mess ups. She is now working in reverse; difficulty level easy to hard. Calls Andrew to address her personality and how it was recently adopted and not birthed. Y'all know what I mean.
Lawrence is on a date with lil' miss graveyard movie maven. We find out she is the one with the baggage...interesting. He has some nerve worrying about baggage. Young sir when you met this woman you had baggage on your genitals, can't be picky when your slinging peen at anybody with a hole. Don't take me seriously, Lawrence just makes me upset.
We work our way back to Issa just like Nathaniel the friendly ghost. But he doesn't come alone, he comes with an explanation. Kendrick Sampson did his thang in this scene. Mental health awareness is very important because of scenarios like this. I feel like he knows but just doesn't want to admit he might be bipolar. He had this amazing high with Issa and I feel like whatever is going on at home triggered him to a severe low. Trust I felt that he was hiding a family back home, but the way those light eyes spoke I felt something real. Maybe he's lying, we will find out next season, sadly.
Well our Issa ends with a clear place and hopefully a clear mind. Being positive because deep down inside I am lost and lonely without this show.

This is me waiting until next summer/fall.
