Insecure Season 4, Episode 3 Recap

Highkey we saw this sh*t coming. I told yall it was coming, and we are all old enough to see this mess (Molly predicted) coming.
Dammit Molly was right...Didn't think I would see the day to be honest. Well before I can get into this moment of gloating, let's get into the episode.
Martin/Lawrence opens up preparing himself to convince his bosses that he is the man for a promotion. He later finds out that his plan will be put on the back burner. Why did it feel like that secretary was the dog meme where he's sitting in fire saying, "It's fine"? Chad never disappoints when it comes with the foolishness. Got a brand new car but no money to pay for the car note...we all know a few people like that. I do feel sorry for Lawrence, but he shouldn't beat himself up about it. Either move on or stay with a company that might fold, just that simple.

Issa, Condola, and Lawrence...y'all are not okay with this situation. It gets worse every time y'all interact with each other. Poor Condola, she didn't know what type of mess she was getting herself into because this is beyond "messy". At first I was confused on why Issa left, but then again I would've left too. Watching your ex and your new friend have a date is just bothersome.
Well finally Issa and Molly point out the elephant that follows them to any room they are in. The dialogue between them was intense though, I was expecting a "messy ass bitch/hoe" coming soon.

There were a lot of feelings they held off on each other, for a WHILE, that finally came out but in the worst delivery. The conversation, in my opinion, should've gone down that day. But, then again I try to avoid confrontation as much as possible because I am a punk...that's me though and that's my business. In that scene you can see they are sisters because a disagreement doesn't stop them from trying to enjoy Thanksgiving together.
Lawrence found himself being a classic man and mister fix it on Turkey day. That usually happens when you're trying to show off. His representative is poking through because last time that I checked this was not the same man from season 1. Guys do change, but it is sometimes for the next woman. Condola's friends are bland to me, but Nicki (the unexpectedly, expected life of the party) explains why Lawrence 2.0 is getting the not so interested treatment.

Is he offended he is practically being treated like a piece of ass with a dab of dates? Yes. Is he going to ask dumb ass questions to make a woman tell the harsh truth?! You bet. Will Lawrence make a rash decision which will drive him back to his old ways? Y'all watch this show, you know how it's going go down.
Molly's family is cute and realistic. Her brothers remind me of my brothers, but her momma couldn't be my momma. I would cry. Not surprised she is holding a grudge against her father, she is irrationally mean in all her relationships. Masika Kalysha as one of the baby mommas not surprising, but it makes sense why she stopped trolling Alexis Skyy. Molly's brother is so sweet to her because she was definitely going to mess up a game of Taboo because she's Molly.
I know a Kelli. The Kelli I know her family is lit as well. Trina and Kelli being friends is not a shocker.
The DuBois' Thanksgiving was ehh.
Wendy Raquel Robinson as Issa's mother is simply a breath of fresh air. I love Issa and Ahmal's relationship, it reminds me of my brother and myself. We don't like new people like that and don't like the bullsh*t. Mexican food for Thanksgiving is definitely on my bucket list now. Issa finally had an honest moment regarding this Condola and Lawrence situation. Momma is not bothered just aggravated; like any other woman who sees what the man can be but loses that man because they're tired of waiting. We all know she cheated, I am just trying to wrap it up with a bow. Ahmal was dropping gems this episode because baby Issa had about three epiphanies. Sometimes family will do that to you.
Issa's monologue about being with a man with potential had so many thoughts run through my mind.

Most women have the right to be bitter when they lose a good man.
Why do good women lose good men?
Lawrence has transitioned into adulthood, but is he really ready to move on?
Should Issa resent Lawrence and Condola's relationship?
How can she really want to work with Condola?
Lawrence slid in Issa's DM and I am completely not surprised. I told y'all asses that this negro was holding off on CCdola until he knew her true intentions. Now look at him, backsliding like the moonwalk...I can't. Y'all know Lawrence is messy, I know Lawrence is messy. I'll see y'all for some mess next week...bye.
Mýa...that was cute.
